Welcome to Irchester Class...

In Irchester class you will always find our year 2 children actively involved and engaged with their learning. Their class teacher is Miss Arnold and their full time teaching assistant is Miss Errington. In the Autumn term the class theme is title ‘Turrets and Tiaras'. Throughout the topic the children will have the opportunity to learn about castles, including castle life for rich and the poor.  They will learn about knights and fearsome jousting.  They will also have the opportunity to take part in thier own medieval feast!  Also as part of their Geography work they will be learning about the four countries in the United Kingdom and famous castles in all of them. We have lots of art and design technology learning opportunities planned for the term, including junk modelling and collage.  In science, they will be investigating different materials to find out if a material is suitable for a job. We have lots of exciting learning opportunities planned and we hope to take the children to visit a real life castle!
