Welcome to Brixworth Class...

Here in Brixworth class you will find our year 5 and year 6 children.  They are taught by Mrs Carpenter who is supported by Mrs Willmott their teaching assistant.  In the Autumn term the class theme is ‘Crime and Punishment’; the children will be historians whilst finding out about daily life, crimes and punishments in the UK from medieval times to the Tudor times, and the Stuarts to the Victorian times. The children will look at the life of Robin Hood asking themselves ‘Is it ok to steal from the rich?’, and exploring peoples’ beliefs.  Did beliefs and who was reigning over the country have an impact on the crimes and punishments that took place.

The children will spend time developing their drawing and sketching skills – drawing the forests and trees of Sherwood Forest and re-creating Victorian portraits of Henry VIII.  They will also become printers by recreating work in the style of Victorian artist, William Morris.

The links below will show you the areas which will be covered over this term during the topic and will also show you the yearly overview.
